Canadian Delegation at the 2018 NAFAN Convention

Oct 12, 2018

With well over 50 French aerospace companies expected to attend the 2018 NAFAN Convention, there is no shortage of networking opportunities. For those interested in learning about doing business in Canada, and more specifically the province of Quebec, here are some great reasons to meet with us.

What Is NAFAN All About?

The NAFAN convention, held every two years, is a major event that gathers French aerospace companies wishing to expand operations to North America. Above all else, it is an opportunity for French aerospace companies to network and exchange best practices with North American partners.

The convention is not only limited to tiers and OEMs. In fact, companies from the following subsectors often attend:

  • Avionics

  • Military equipment manufacturers

  • IT

  • Software

  • Space

  • Surface treatment

  • Fuels and lubricants

  • and more.

Our Panel Discussion: How to Grow Your Business in Quebec.

GIFAS, the organizing partner of the NAFAN Convention, kindly asked President of R&D Partners, Mike Lee, to participate in a panel discussion on doing business in Quebec.

We will primarily focus on corporate tax incentives available to aerospace companies. More specifically, we will discuss:

  1. The eligibility basics for the SR&ED tax credit program.

  2. Other tax or expenditure credits available for French companies in Quebec.

  3. Examples of grants and other government funding programs.

We will be joined by four other panelists, namely Simon Lelievre, Head of Aerospace at Business France North America, Annie Breard, Director at Invest Quebec, Francis Archambault, CEO of NSE Automatech, and Guillaume Bajolet, VP Business Development at Groupe Lauak.

Quebec is host to a variety of major aerospace companies and has a deep history of supporting leaders like Bombardier, CAE, Pratt & Whitney Canada, Bell Helicopter, and more.
